Of all the gravestones I photographed on my visit to the Kenyon College Campus Cemetery, the one of Henrietta stuck in my mind. Particularly because, once I was viewing the photos on my computer, her headstone really looked very much like a torso with a head to me.
Don’t you feel like you’re looking at the back of her head here, at an elaborate up-do that is coming apart, and any moment she could turn her head?
Who was she of this classy name, except the wife of J.R. Taylor? A search on the Kenyon College website only yields an article that compliments her on her “old-fashioned” name. And why did she die so young?
I can see that!
Definitely a young death for her…
Yes, sad, isn't it, and yet wonderful that there is at least some remembrance, even if it is only by strangers like us.
