Isn’t this the cutest potholder ever? A knitted pumpkin? I fell in love with this pattern in the KnitPicks newsletter.
Fall is my favorite season, and I love pumpkins (two things I’m sure you’re aware of if you’ve been reading my blog for a while), so what better way to celebrate fall than to try my hand at this adorable pattern? I immediately ordered the kit from KnitPicks, and I’ve since ordered more of this orange yarn as I’ve gone crazy knitting pumpkins. I have all kinds of plans for these as gifts. Two sets have already made it over the Atlantic, one to dear friend in Germany, and the other to my daughter in Israel, where pumpkins are not prevalent at this time of year.
The photo shows my first specimen blocked on my grandmother’s oriental rug (she taught me how to knit so this is a homage to her as well). An extra bonus: these pumpkins can be knit in a day, whereas my usual needlework projects take months to complete, and I love that sense of completion!
Nicely done. It contrasts well against that rug.
Thanks, although it's place is really in someone else's kitchen.
So cute!
Thanks, still knitting away!
